Diablo Valley ENT is dedicated to providing the highest quality care in the specialty of Otorhinolaryngology. Together, Drs. Timothy Scott, Abraham Hsieh, and Michael Murphy bring years of university-based experience to provide a complete array of tertiary care services to the Diablo Valley community with offices in Walnut Creek and San Ramon. They are board certified by The American Board of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery. Additionally, they are staff members of the John Muir Medical Center and San Ramon Regional Medical Center. They perform head and neck surgery at these facilities, as well as Sequoia Surgical Pavilion, Aspen Surgery Center, and the San Ramon Regional Ambulatory Surgery Center.

Timothy A. Scott, MD
Dr. Scott joined Dr. Schroff 15 years ago with the goal of providing personalized specialty services to the local Walnut Creek community. After completing medical school at the University of Nebraska, Dr. Scott completed his Otolaryngology residency at the University of California, San Francisco. He then earned a Fellowship in Facial Plastics at the University of California, Irvine. Dr. Scott is board certified in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and has special interest in this area, as well as otology.

Abraham G. Hsieh, MD
Dr. Hsieh joined Diablo Valley ENT in 1999 after working at Kaiser Permanente for 6 years as the Assistant Chief in Head and Neck Surgery in Vallejo and Fairfield. He earned his medical degree from Tufts and completed his Otolaryngology residency at the University of California, Irvine. Dr. Hsieh has special interest in rhinology and sinus surgery, pediatric otolaryngology, sleep apnea management, and head and neck oncology. Dr. Hsieh performs Turbinate Reduction, as well as the Pillar Procedure, in the office to treat snoring and sleep apnea.

Michael P. Murphy, MD, MPH
Dr. Murphy joined Diablo Valley ENT in 2002 after receiving his doctorate from Saint Louis University School of Medicine. He completed his residency in Otolaryngology at the University of Washington School of Medicine with additional time spent earning a Master's Degree in Public Health. Dr. Murphy has a second Board Certification in Sleep Medicine and has a special interest in the treatment of snoring, sleep apnea and sleep disorders. He also has special training in Laryngology (the study of voice and swallowing disorders) and works closely with our Speech Pathologist, Jeanne Roder, to provide comprehensive, state-of-the-art care for these patients.

Emily Sharpe, FNP-BC
Emily Sharpe, our Nurse Practitioner, joined the Diablo Valley ENT team in 2010. Originally from San Jose, she graduated from Columbia University in New York earning her MSN and Family Nurse Practitioner license in 2007. Emily brings with her a wide range of experiences and training, from working in the Emergency Department at New York Presbyterian, to working at a community-based clinic in Oakland. Trained by Drs. Scott, Hsieh, & Murphy, she provides the same high level of care you come to expect at Diablo Valley ENT.
Emily practices in both our Walnut Creek and San Ramon offices, treating symptoms ranging from sudden hearing loss to vertigo. |

Jeanne Roder, MS CCC-SLP
Ms. Roder provides speech pathology services with an emphasis in voice and swallowing disorders. She uses such specialized procedures as fiberoptic endoscopic evaluation of swallowing (FEES), laryngeal videostroboscopy, and provides voice therapy. Ms. Roder has extensive clinical experience diagnosing and treating speech pathology disorders for patients with head and neck cancer, CVA, TBI, dysphagia, and those with tracheostomy tubes/ventilator dependency.
Ms. Roder offers services at our Walnut Creek office.

Shiane Moffett, Valerie & Greg Fitzgibbons, MA CCC-A
Audiologists Shiane Moffett, Valerie and Greg Fitzgibbons, provide comprehensive audiology services, including hearing tests for both children and adults, videonystagmography for patients with vertigo or imbalance problems, and auditory brainstem response evaluations to screen for tumors of the auditory nerve.
Audiology services are offered at our San Ramon and Walnut Creek offices.
